White Card Training
Welcome to the White Card Course website. We cover all relevant courses for the White Card with a good frequency of courses.
What is a White Card?
Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) laws across most States of Australia require anyone working in the construction industry to have completed construction induction training, otherwise known as White Card training. This includes self-employed contractors, apprentices and trainees, labourers, supervisors and project managers. You will also need to complete a White Card course if you have not worked in the construction industry for more than 2 years.
White Card Course
The White Card course, Work Safely in the Construction Industry (CPCCOHS1001A), replaced Red Card, Green Card and other construction induction courses in 2008 and must be run by Nationally Accredited Registered Training Organisations.
White Card training generally takes between half a day and a full day and can be completed through instructor led classroom training or self-paced online White Card training programs. The content of White Card courses should cover OHS legislation with regards to working in the construction industry, on site hazards and safety control systems, reporting and communication procedures as outlined in OHS legislation and what is required should an incident occur.
Note that completing a construction White Card course can contribute up to 6 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CDP) within the construction industry.
What do I need to get my White Card?
Before enrolling in any White Card courses make sure you have 100 points of identification available (drivers licence, passport, bank account, credit card etc). You will need to satisfy proof of identification requirements in order to be accepted into a White Card training course.
Construction White Card Course Training
Once you have completed the White Card training you will be issued with… a White Card! This is literally a credit card sized, white card that shows the card number, your name and date of birth and the card issue date. On the back of the card it will state that the card holder has successfully completed OHS general induction for construction training.
